What is Youngdartington?

Young Dartington is a children's summer adventure camp set in the beautiful grounds of Dartington Hall near Totnes, Devon.
• We run kids summer activities like rock climbing, caving, adventure and quest games.
• Plus loads of exciting craft activities for children like lantern making, pottery, batik and tie dye and 'bags, boxes and bracelets'.
• Because we go up to age 14 Youngdartington is also a great summer camp for teenagers. There is always a group of teenagers at Youngdartington and its so much fun they never feel too old!.

Ethos

Young Dartington aims to provide childrens holidays which are really owned by the children who come on them. A childrens summer holiday they feel they have chosen for themselves and which gives them the freedom and choice they deserve.
• The kids at Youngdartington choose their own timetable of outdoor activities, adventure activities and craft activities and we never force anyone to something they don't want to do. In fact they are always changing their minds and charging off to do something else!

When?

It runs for three weeks every Summer holiday. The dates for 2010 are 26th - 30th July , 2nd - 6th August and the 9th - 13th August.
• Young Dartington starts at 9:30 and finishes at 16:30 but you can get your parents to drop you off as early as 8:00 and pick you up as late as 18:30 if you want!
• You can come to any one of the three weeks or two or even all three of them.

Who?

Young Dartington is for 8 - 14 year olds.

What?

• Each week you can do five exciting craft and outdoor activities. See the activities page for details.

Anniversary

• Young Dartington is in its 19th year in 2010 so why not come and celebrate with us! Don't forget to spread the word about the 20th Anniversary reunion! Watch this space for more details and get in touch if you ever went to YD in the past.

Non-native English speakers have always had a wonderful time at YD and the kids are always very welcoming. Its an immersive language experience and the kids always come away with better English. We have comments from Spanish and French kids on the comments page and have had Germans and Italians before as well.
